Pennington & Trim Alarm Services Flowood, MS
Our company was founded in the fall of 1987 as a partnership between Norman Pennington and Ed Trim. In the early days, the work was done out of Ed Trim's house using his storage room as a stock room. Slowly, the company began to grow, and more space was needed. A small room in the back of a building was rented in 1988 at 4374 Mangum Drive from the Southern Electric Corporation. Later, the entire back of the building was leased.
In 1991, Dana Trim (wife of Ed) quit her job with an insurance company and became the first office personnel as she performed accounting duties for the company full time. Eventually, the entire building was leased when Southern Electric built their new offices next door. A few years later, the old building was purchased as well as the land in front of it on which the new building was constructed. The company has grown tremendously over the years. Located in Flowood, Mississippi, we are locally owned and operated. The majority of our work is in Hinds, Madison, and Rankin counties.

Security camera systems also known as CCTV have evolved greatly over the years. In the old days, cameras were connected to a sequential switcher which in turn was connected to a monitor. The switcher would switch between several different cameras and the video would be recorded by a time-lapse VCR. With the invention of the multiplexer, the VCR could record all cameras at once. The time-lapse recorder could record up to twenty-four hours on one tape, requiring a daily rotation of tapes.
A typical residential home security system would include protection for all doors, and a motion detector in an ideal location as a backup or interior trap. Some customers take advantage of the extra protection afforded by window contacts or glass breakage detectors. Many insurance companies offer a 10% discount on their home owners policies for a residential security system when monitoring is maintained.
Commercial Building security installation is similar to residential except that, in addition to protecting all doors, more than one motion detector is usually installed in places such as hallways and storage rooms/warehouses, if applicable. Since most commercial buildings have fixed (non-operative) windows, many customers take advantage of the extra protection afforded by glass breakage detectors in every room in the building.

We have been a customer for over 5 years now and every time we call we get to talk to a person here in Jackson and not another state or country. Their product and service department is second to none. I will keep Pennington and Trim as long as I have an alarm. Thank you Pennington and Trim for keeping them out!
