Dale Elliott, late owner of Allstate Security Industries Inc. founded Amarillo Burglar Control in 1967. Through the years the name has changed as Mr. Elliott had grown the business, acquiring 22 security companies and merging them to create the largest and the oldest locally owned life safety and security company in the Amarillo area.

Out of over 12, 000 alarm companies in the United States, only 51 are Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. listed to install, service, monitor and issue Underwriters Laboratories certificates for both burglar and fire alarm systems from their own central station and with their own armed alarm response officers. Allstate Security is one of those elite 51 security companies, the only one in Amarillo. In fact, the nearest equally accredited companies are in Dallas, Colorado Springs, Phoenix and Oklahoma City.
